The annual Calabar Carnival continued in the early hours of Thursday at the Millennium Park, Calabar, with some local artists thrilling the audience.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that artists like Teego, Uncle Eddie and Naughty Jay, among others, added fun and laughter to the event which began in the evening of Wednesday.
The special adviser to the governor on events management, Totsman Etoti, said the event, tagged "Calabar Got Talent II," was one of the many activities in the ongoing festival calendar.
Etoti said the event was also targeted at discovering budding talents and nurturing them into stardom. "This is part of the state government’s effort at galvanising the youthful energies of the young ones in the state into useful ventures to boost the state’s entertainment industry," he said.
Not even the early morning down pour could stop the teeming crowd from identifying with the artistes.
A fun lover, Loveth James, told NAN that she came from Uyo to witness the event which had become a springboard to discovering and nurturing young artists to stardom.
