Police Praise Girl For Cutting Off Rapist Uncle’s Genitalia

The incident happened when the girl fall ill and her uncle (who considers himself a tantric healer and performs healing rituals) came to a hospital “to treat her”. He diagnosed the niece with possession by an evil spirit, put a gag into her mouth and raped.

When the man attempted to sexually abuse her for the second time, the teen fought back, she recorded a conversation between them, sliced off his penis with a pre-prepared knife and managed to escape. Thereafter she reported the matter to a village council and contacted local women police officers.


The alleged attacker had vanished after the incident, now police officers exert any efforts to find and bring him to justice. Senior officer AK Singh, superintendent at the police station, said that the girl did everything right and they applaud her bravery and courage.

Rape in India is one of country’s most common crimes against women. Rape, violence, kidnapping, sexual harassment, trafficking, molestation and cruelty by husbands and relatives against women are a massive problem in India. Nearly one in three rape victims in India is under the age of 18. One in 10 are under 14. Every 20 minutes in India, a woman is raped.

Ebola Fears: National Assembly Members Avoid Shaking Hands

Panic over the spread of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Nigeria has travelled as far as the National Assembly as the lawmakers refused handshakes today and hand sanitizers was seen used by many of them.

This happened as a public hearing on the disease held in a session chaired by Chairman, House Committee on Health Hon. Ndidi Elumelu. Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, the Health Minister was in attendance.

Onyebuchi had today disclosed that a nurse who was among the medical personnel that attended to the late Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer, who died of Ebola virus in Lagos on July 25, has died of the same disease.

“Nigeria has now recorded 7 confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVB)” the minister said.

Those who have died include the “index patient,” a Liberian who brought the virus to Lagos on July 20, and a nurse who treated him, the minister added.

“All the Nigerians diagnosed with EBV were primary contacts” of Patrick Sawyer, who worked for Liberia’s finance ministry and contracted the virus from his sister, Chukwu said.

The five Ebola patients are being treated in an isolation ward in Lagos, the minister told journalists.

Since breaking out earlier this year, the tropical virus has claimed almost 900 lives and infected more than 1,600 people across West Africa.

The off-road vehicle was the centre of attention at the Wellesley hotel in Knightsbridge, managing to outshine a Rolls-Royce Ghost parked next to it. ‘Range Rovers don’t normally stand out because there are so many of them in London, but this one is different,’ said one onlooker.

Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian man diagnosed with Ebola virus yesterday in Lagos has died. Sawyer, a WASH consultant at the Ministry of Finance, who was quarantined since arriving Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, July 20, 2014 with symptoms of the Ebola virus died early this morning, Friday July 25th.

This is Nigeria's first case of the deadly virus that has been sweeping across Africa. It is reportedly responsible for the death of over 170 million africans since its inception. It has already killed about 632 people in liberia, sierra leone and guinea since its outbreak in february.

Do not forget to wash your hands immediately after any hand shake..... Prevention is far better than cure.

It is “Totally Unacceptable”! Babaginda Condemns Bombings

“To state the least, this bloodletting must stop. This bloodletting has to stop”

The former military president General Ibrahim Babaginda has condemned the bombings in the country, most especially the bomb attacks in Kaduna.

“It is callous and inhuman for anyone to goad this country on the path of perfidy, a path that is laid with landmines and bombs. This is totally unacceptable.” he said.

• No, he didn’t steal the name. Sometime in 2000-2001, Basketmouth approached me during one of the Plantashun Boiz’s concert at D Den on Isaac John in Ikeja and he introduced himself to me as ‘Basketmouth’ and told me he heard I was also using the name. I was already an established entertainer then so what I saw was a younger brother from Benin with hunger for success in his eyes. There and then, I asked him if he liked the name and his response was in the affirmative. I told him to keep the name so I changed mine. Most of my friends including my wife did not approve of this. They said I sold my birthright to him. Till date, some of my colleagues still call me MC.

Did the change in name affect you?

• Definitely yes, because I had to begin a rebuilding process, getting to let my clients and fans know about it . It took a lot of time, money and conviction. But since they got used to it, it has been great.

So what is your relationship with Basketmouth?

• He is my younger brother who is doing very well for himself. In fact, I feel proud that I allowed him use the name and he has always shown me respect whenever we meet. Way back, we cover up shows for each other. I remember one particular incident when he had to go for an interview at the America embassy to get visa and also had to perform at Pall Mall in Calabar. He called on me and I went to cover up for him. We have a cordial relationship though we hardly see often because of our busy schedules.

TRAGIC: Politicians Buy Human Parts From Me, Says Suspect

The Kwara state Police command yesterday July 23rd paraded two men who they said are involved in trading of human parts.

The men whose names were given as Amos Kareem and Abubakar Ladan were arrested with human head, leg and hand in Tabira village, Okuta in Baruten LGA of the state, according to a report by Vanguard.

When interviewed, one of the suspects, Abubakar Ladan said Amos Kareem promised to give him a motorcycle if he could find him human head, hand and leg. His desire to own a motorcycle made him go to a cemetery where he exhumed bodies and cut off their heads, hands and legs (pictured above).

When asked what he wanted to do with the human parts, Amos Kareem said he sold them to politicians. He however refused to disclose the identities of the politicians.

The police also paraded a man said to be an accomplice, having accommodated the suspects in Tabira village, though the man denied knowledge of the business Kareem and Ladan were involved in.

NFF Set To Renew Coach Stephen Keshi’s Contract

The Nigeria coach saw his current deal lapsed at the end of the World Cup, and with no new offer on the table, announced he was leaving his position after the Super Eagles were eliminated at the round of 16.

But on Thursday, the executive committee led by a Acting President Mike Umeh, directed its Technical Sub committee to “open channels of communication with Mr. Stephen Keshi with a view to extending his contract, as the NFF is still interested in working with him.”

The committee is expected to report back within one week.

Furthermore, it was resolve that all financial issues must be thoroughly deliberate and agreed on ahead of major competitions to avoid incidents of player training boycotts which happened at the World Cup finals on Brazil.

SAD NEWS: Armed Robbers Attack Hospital In Delta, Rape Nurses And Patients

Pandemonium rocked the General Hospital, Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State at the weekend when armed robbers unleashed hell on patients and workers.

It was gathered that the robbers, for the umpteenth time, in the hospital raped patients and female workers before carting away their belongings including cash, GSM handsets and other valuables.

Investigation revealed that the robbers, who were many, shot into the air on arrival and ordered the people around, including medical personnel to lie face down before executing their mission. Checks by Daily Sun revealed that this was the third time men of the underworld would terrorise the hospital and they succeeded on each occasion.

Consequently, the people of the area are now scared-stiff to patronise the hospital as their safety was no longer guaranteed. A middle-aged woman, who visited her hospitalised relations, said she could not stay up to five minutes for fear of being attacked by robbers.

Meanwhile, relations of other patients at the hospital are already withdrawing their wards and relocating them to other hospitals and herbal homes. Most of those who spoke with Daily Sun urged the state government to provide security in the hospital to curb the excesses of bandits, who had made life unbearable for patients and workers.

In another development, a suspected armed robber was set ablaze by a mob for robbing members of a church at gun point in Warri, Delta State. The suspect and two others had stormed the church located in the busy Kolokolo area of Warri and dispossessed worshippers of their valuables.

Sources told Daily Sun that the bandits shot severally into the air, ordering everybody to lie face down and dispossessed them of their money, GSM handsets as well as the offering.

Nemesis, however, caught up with the hoodlums when some of the worshippers, who managed to escape, raised the alarm, which attracted passers-by. Sensing that their game was up, two of the robbers narrowly escaped but the third was apprehended and given the beating of his life and set ablaze.

NASA Plans To start A Garden On The Moon Next Year!

It's a great time to be alive when all of the cliches seen in sci-fi movies time and time again are starting to become a reality.

Men landing on the moon, versatile rovers roam Mars and now we're just a couple years away from starting plant life on our neighboring celestial bodies.

Arabidopsis is a small flowering plant that is closely related to mustard or cabbage, both useful when trying to colonize another planet ecologically. More importantly, it contains one of the model organism that is key for studying plant biology, especially since it's the first plant to have its entire genome sequenced.

NASA, the American space agency, set its sights on Arabidopsis to be part of the first garden on the Moon and Mars. Ambitiously, NASA plans to have it planted on the Moon by 2015, as in next year. Mars isn't that far behind with a target date of 2021.

This very well could be the first step of plans to one day send men and women to live on distant worlds, hopefully with food and water already set up for them.
